Woodford Folk Festival Motorhome Guide

Heading to Woodford? Book a motorhome and make festival life easy

Stay at Woodfordia in a self-contained motorhome — comfort, shade and your own space, with live availability from trusted Aussie providers.

What is Woodford Folk Festival

Woodford is Australia’s largest gathering of artists and performers outside a sporting event — a six-day celebration of music, arts, ideas and community that runs over New Year at Woodfordia, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Queensland.

With on-site camping central to the experience (and summer heat to manage), a motorhome keeps you close to the stages with real beds, shade and your own kitchen and bathroom.

FAQs

Can I bring a motorhome to Woodford?

Yes. Vehicle camping is common. Make sure your ticket includes the correct camping add-on for your vehicle/group.

Are sites powered?

Most sites are unpowered. Plan for off-grid with batteries or solar, and manage heat with shade and ventilation.

Where should I pick up my camper?

Brisbane is the closest major pickup hub (around 1–1.5 hours to Woodfordia, traffic dependent). Sunshine Coast options may also be available.

Is there family or accessible camping?

Yes. Woodfordia typically provides family-friendly and accessible zones. Check the festival’s latest camping map and guidelines.

Can I run a generator or plug in?

Sites are generally unpowered and generators are restricted. Bring solar/batteries and check the year’s official rules before arrival.

What about water, waste and dump points?

Arrive topped up with fresh water, and plan to manage grey/black water responsibly. Use designated dump points before/after the event or any provided facilities as directed.

How hot does it get?

It’s mid-summer in QLD. Pack shade, fans, plenty of water and breathable bedding. Ventilate your motorhome during the day.

Are there size limits for vehicles?

Standard festival camp lanes suit typical campervans and motorhomes. If you have an oversized or unusual vehicle, check dimensions with the festival before booking.

Do I need separate tickets for camping?

Yes — camping requires the correct add-on per vehicle/guest in addition to your festival tickets.

Can I leave and re-enter with my vehicle?

Vehicle movement is restricted once parked for safety. Plan to stay on-site; if you must leave, follow marshal instructions.
