Best RV Rental Operators in Las Vegas
Cruise America runs one of its busiest depots from Henderson, on the south-east side of the valley. The standardised Class C fleet suits first-time renters, and the one-way network is the widest in the country, which makes Las Vegas to Los Angeles, San Francisco or Denver drop-offs straightforward to arrange. Henderson’s position also puts it closest to the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon side of the map.
El Monte RV operates from Boulder Highway on the east side, convenient for Lake Mead, Valley of Fire and the road north. The fleet runs from mid-size Class C motorhomes to large Class A vehicles, and Las Vegas is one of its strongest locations for availability.
Road Bear RV shares the Boulder Highway depot with El Monte RV, as both brands sit under the same parent company, thl. Road Bear positions itself at the premium end, with a newer fleet and better equipped kitchens, so when dates are tight it pays to price both brands even though the pickup address is identical.
Travellers Autobarn is the budget campervan option and the only depot minutes from the Strip. Its campervans come with unlimited miles and no young-driver fee from age 21, which suits couples doing big national park loops. One important restriction: Travellers Autobarn does not permit its vehicles in Death Valley between May and September because of extreme heat, so summer itineraries should route around the valley. For the full brand line-up across all four markets, see the Our Suppliers page.
RV Rental Prices in Las Vegas (USD)
Las Vegas pricing peaks twice: the summer school holidays, and EDC weekend in May, when demand from festival campers empties the local fleet. Late August also firms up as Burning Man traffic passes through Nevada. Winter is the cheapest season and one of the most pleasant times to drive the southern desert.
| Vehicle class | Approx. daily rate (USD) | Sleeps | Bathroom | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Campervan (Kuga/Hi5 style) | USD 90-180/day | 2-3 | No | Couples, budget park loops |
| Class B campervan | USD 130-220/day | 2-4 | Compact | Couples wanting a bathroom on board |
| Class C motorhome | USD 180-300/day | 4-6 | Full | Families, EDC camping |
| Class A motorhome | USD 270-450/day | 6-8 | Full | Large groups, festival setups |
These are indicative ranges and the currency is USD throughout. Use the search widget on this page for live pricing across operators for your dates. Compare mileage terms as carefully as the daily rate: Travellers Autobarn includes unlimited miles, while the motorhome operators typically charge per mile or in prepaid packages, and a Grand Canyon loop adds up quickly. Unsure what size suits your group? The guide on choosing the right motorhome size for a family of four covers the trade-offs.
Road Trip Routes from Las Vegas
Valley of Fire State Park is the closest big landscape, about an hour north-east, with red sandstone formations and two campgrounds that suit a first night out of the city. It works as a day trip or as the first stop on the road to Zion.
Zion National Park is around 2.5 hours north-east into Utah and the most popular route from a Las Vegas pickup. Larger vehicles should note the Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel restrictions, which require an escort fee and timed passage for RVs over certain dimensions, and that park campgrounds book out months ahead for spring and autumn.
The Grand Canyon South Rim is about 4.5 hours south-east via Kingman and Williams, with a stop at the Hoover Dam on the way out of the city. The West Rim and Grand Canyon West Skywalk are closer, around 2.5 hours, but are a separate destination from the national park itself.
Death Valley National Park is roughly 2 hours west and at its best from October through April. Summer temperatures there are dangerous, and several operators restrict or exclude summer travel through the valley, so read the rental terms before routing through it between May and September.
Travellers building a longer Nevada loop can add the state’s natural hot springs. The Nevada hot springs RV trip guide covers the springs reachable from Las Vegas and Reno depots, including which access roads suit which vehicle types. Las Vegas also pairs naturally with a Southern California leg: Los Angeles is 4 to 4.5 hours south-west on I-15, and the Los Angeles RV rental guide covers the depots and coastal routes at that end.
| Route | Distance from Las Vegas | Suggested duration |
|---|---|---|
| Valley of Fire State Park | 80 km | 1-2 days return |
| Death Valley (Oct-Apr) | 190 km | 2-3 days return |
| Zion National Park | 260 km | 2-4 days return |
| Grand Canyon South Rim | 440 km | 3-4 days return |
| Los Angeles via I-15 | 435 km | 2 days one way |
| Grand Circle loop (Zion, Bryce, Page, Grand Canyon) | 1,600 km | 7-10 days |
Events Within Reach of a Las Vegas Pickup
EDC Las Vegas, held each May at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, is the event this city’s RV fleet revolves around. Camp EDC operates on site, RV passes sell out quickly, and local vehicles for that weekend are the first in the country to go, so booking several months ahead is the difference between choosing a vehicle and taking whatever is left. Burning Man, running Aug 30 to Sep 7, 2026 in the Black Rock Desert, is about 9 hours north via US-95, and a Las Vegas pickup is a practical alternative when Reno fleets are gone. Coachella and Stagecoach in Indio, California are around 4 hours south-west, close enough that Vegas depots absorb overflow demand on those April weekends. The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in early October is a long day’s drive east for travellers combining it with a Route 66 leg. Browse the full calendar on the Events page.
When to Go
Spring (March to May) is prime desert season, with warm days, cool nights and wildflowers in good years. EDC weekend in May lifts prices sharply, so travellers not attending should avoid those dates and travellers attending should book earliest of all.
Summer (June to August) is extreme. Las Vegas itself regularly exceeds 40 degrees Celsius and Death Valley goes well beyond that. Summer routes should head for elevation, toward Zion’s high country, the Grand Canyon rims or north to cooler latitudes, and vehicle air conditioning moves from comfort to necessity. Before a hot-season trip, the guide on keeping a campervan cool at a summer festival is worth reading, and its advice applies to desert travel generally.
Autumn (September to November) mirrors spring, with the desert parks back in play from October and thinner crowds after the summer holidays. This is the best season for a Death Valley leg.
Winter (December to February) is mild in the southern desert, cold at night and quiet on the roads. It is the cheapest time to rent, and low-elevation routes such as Death Valley, Valley of Fire and Lake Mead are at their most comfortable. Zion and the Grand Canyon rims can see snow, so check conditions before committing to high-elevation camps.
What's Included
Standard inclusions across the Las Vegas operators cover a fitted kitchen with fridge and cooktop, bedding or linen packs (a paid extra on some budget vans), a toilet and shower on Class B, C and A vehicles, and 24/7 roadside assistance. Unlimited mileage is standard with Travellers Autobarn and generally an extra cost with the motorhome operators. Generators matter more here than in most markets, both for desert boondocking and for festival camping, and are a common paid extra, so confirm generator access and any usage caps at booking. Driving and Parking an RV in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is an easy RV city by American standards, with wide roads and simple freeway access, but the Strip itself is not the place for a motorhome. Casino parking garages have height limits below any RV, oversized-vehicle rules vary by property, and overnight parking enforcement is active, so treat the Strip as a rideshare destination from a campground rather than somewhere to park the vehicle. The Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town on Boulder Highway and the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort south of the airport both offer full hookups within a short drive of the Strip and suit a first or last night. In summer, park in shade where it exists, run the fridge on the correct power source and never leave pets or people in an unpowered vehicle, as cabin temperatures become dangerous within minutes. If your route mixes paid campgrounds with free public land camping, the guide on freedom camping vs festival campgrounds explains the trade-offs, and much of Nevada’s BLM land allows dispersed camping at no cost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which RV rental operators have depots in Las Vegas?
Event Campers compares Cruise America in Henderson, El Monte RV and Road Bear RV on Boulder Highway, and Travellers Autobarn near the Strip. Use the search widget on this page for live availability and pricing across all four.
How much does RV rental cost in Las Vegas?
Indicative rates in USD: budget campervans from USD 90 to 180 per day, Class B campervans from USD 130 to 220, Class C motorhomes from USD 180 to 300 and Class A motorhomes from USD 270 to 450. EDC weekend in May and the summer holidays are the most expensive periods, and winter is the cheapest.
Which RV depot is closest to the Las Vegas Strip?
Travellers Autobarn at 3050 W Sirius Ave is about 7 minutes from the Strip and 10 minutes from Harry Reid International Airport. The El Monte RV and Road Bear RV shared depot on Boulder Highway and Cruise America in Henderson are each around 15 to 20 minutes out.
Can I do a one-way RV rental from Las Vegas?
Yes. Cruise America has the widest one-way network, and Las Vegas to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver are common routes. Travellers Autobarn also offers one-ways between its Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco depots. One-way fees apply and vary by operator.
Do I need an RV pass to camp at EDC Las Vegas?
Yes. Camp EDC at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway requires a camping pass in addition to festival tickets, and RV spots sell out quickly after release. The EDC Las Vegas RV hire guide covers pass types, generator rules and pickup timing in detail.
Can I drive a rental RV from Las Vegas to Death Valley in summer?
Often not. Travellers Autobarn prohibits Death Valley travel between May and September, and other operators restrict or discourage it. Plan Death Valley for October through April, when temperatures are safe for vehicles and people.
Where can I park an RV overnight near the Strip?
Book a campground rather than attempting street or casino parking. The Las Vegas KOA at Sam’s Town on Boulder Highway and Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort both offer full hookups a short drive from the Strip, and both fill on event weekends.
When should I book an RV rental in Las Vegas?
Two to three months ahead for spring and autumn. For EDC weekend in May, book as soon as your tickets are confirmed, as the Las Vegas fleet is the first in the country to sell out for those dates. Late August also tightens as Burning Man traffic moves through Nevada.
Do Las Vegas RV rentals include unlimited miles?
Travellers Autobarn includes unlimited miles on its campervans. Cruise America, El Monte RV and Road Bear RV typically charge per mile or sell prepaid mileage packages. On a Grand Circle loop of 1,600 km or more, mileage costs can exceed the difference in daily rates.
Do I need a special licence to rent an RV in Las Vegas?
No. A standard car licence from your home country covers all rental classes, and drivers generally need to be 21 or older with a full, valid licence. An International Driving Permit or certified translation is required if your licence is not in English.
