EDC Las Vegas RV Hire 2027: The Complete Camp EDC Camping Guide

Hiring an RV for EDC Las Vegas means camping on-site at Camp EDC, inside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with a dedicated entrance directly into the festival. You skip the Strip-to-Speedway traffic, sleep steps from the gates and avoid the cost of hotel rooms across the event. RV operators including Cruise America and Road Bear RV have pickup depots in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix. This guide is part of our wider USA RV hire hub and sits alongside our other California and Southwest festival guides, including Coachella, Stagecoach, Burning Man, Outside Lands and the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.

What's Changed for 2027

EDC Las Vegas is expanding to two consecutive weekends for 2027 under a new “Dusk Till Dawn” format: EDC Dusk runs May 14 to 16, 2027, and EDC Dawn runs May 21 to 23, 2027, with a broader 12-day Dusk Till Dawn experience spanning May 13 to 24 in between. Organizers have said both weekends will run at reduced capacity compared with previous single-weekend editions, with the same lineup across both. This is a genuine change from the single three-night format described in older guides, including earlier versions of this page, so treat any pricing or booking advice dated before 2027 with caution. Camp EDC and Hotel EDC are both confirmed to return for both weekends. Full official details are on the Camp EDC guidelines page and Camp EDC RV camping page.

About EDC Las Vegas

Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) is the largest electronic dance music festival in North America, held each May at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, 7000 N Las Vegas Blvd, NV 89115, roughly 24 km (15 miles) north of the Strip. Each weekend runs dusk to dawn, with gates opening around 7 pm and music running until approximately 5:30 am. EDC features nine or more stages covering house, techno, trance, drum and bass, dubstep, hardstyle and related genres. The main stage, kineticFIELD, has historically held up to 70,000 people. The sold-out 2026 edition, EDC’s 30th anniversary, featured more than 450 artists across 18 music areas and drew hundreds of thousands of attendees.

EDC was founded in 1991 in Southern California by Pasquale Rotella through Insomniac Events and moved to Las Vegas in 2011. The festival is 18+ for general admission and 21+ for VIP areas and alcohol. Camp EDC, introduced in 2018, allows RV campers to stay on-site with direct festival access via a dedicated campers-only entrance.

Quick Answer: RV Hire for EDC Las Vegas

You need a Class A, B or C motorhome, 19 to 45 feet, with a working onboard generator and air conditioning that runs independently of the engine, to qualify for Camp EDC. One Camp EDC RV Pass covers the vehicle and up to eight people for the weekend booked. Every person also needs their own EDC festival pass; Camp EDC passes do not include festival admission. With two weekends now on the calendar and reduced capacity at each, book your RV and campsite as early as possible once your target weekend (Dusk, Dawn, or both) is decided, rather than waiting for the six-months-out window that applied to the old single-weekend format.

Where to Pick Up Your RV for EDC Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the most convenient pickup city, with a drive of around 20 minutes to the Speedway.

THL group note. El Monte RV, Road Bear RV and Mighty are all part of the same parent company, THL, and often share the same depot address. In Las Vegas, El Monte RV and Road Bear RV both operate from 3800 Boulder Hwy; confirm Mighty’s current Las Vegas pickup point at the time of booking, since it may be at the same location or nearby.

Los Angeles and Phoenix are practical alternatives if Las Vegas availability is limited for your chosen weekend.

Pick up your RV at least one day before Camp EDC opens for your weekend. Use the extra day to stock groceries, fill your water tank, top up fuel and test your generator and air conditioning before check-in. Stores near the Speedway are limited; Walmart and Albertsons on Boulder Highway, close to the El Monte RV and Road Bear RV depots, are practical options, as is Walmart or Costco on Craig Road near the north end of the Strip.

Given the reduced capacity across both 2027 weekends, Las Vegas depot availability is still expected to sell out early for whichever weekend proves more popular. Book as soon as your dates are set, and treat Los Angeles and Phoenix as genuine fallbacks rather than last resorts.

RV Hire Operators for EDC Las Vegas

Event Campers compares RV hire from Cruise America, El Monte RV, Road Bear RV, Travellers Autobarn and Mighty across Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix depots. Prices are in USD.

Cruise America is the most widely available operator in the USA, with depots in Las Vegas (Henderson), Phoenix and other Southwest cities. Its standard motorhomes are functional and straightforward, well suited to a multi-night festival stay, with onboard generators standard on the Compact, Standard and Large models.

El Monte RV operates from the shared THL group depot on Boulder Highway and offers larger Class A and Class C motorhomes suited to bigger groups. Free generator use is included on all vehicles, which matters for a dry camping stay at Camp EDC.

Road Bear RV shares the same Boulder Highway facility as El Monte RV and offers larger Class A and Class C motorhomes with more comfort features, including full-size fridges and better blackout options, both useful for daytime sleep in the Nevada desert.

Travellers Autobarn operates from West Sirius Avenue near the Strip and offers a more budget-focused fleet, primarily compact campervans and smaller Class C options. Confirm at booking that the specific vehicle meets Camp EDC’s onboard generator and AC requirements, since not every Travellers Autobarn vehicle carries a generator by default.

Mighty is the THL group’s budget-oriented line, sharing depot infrastructure with El Monte RV. Class C motorhomes are the main option, with onboard generators available on selected models; confirm generator inclusion at booking.

All vehicles booked through Event Campers for Camp EDC must meet the requirements set out below. Confirm onboard generator and AC availability directly with the operator at booking, since this is the single most common reason a rented RV fails gate inspection.

RV Hire Prices for EDC Las Vegas (USD)

Prices vary by vehicle class, depot, pickup date and how far in advance you book. May is peak season in Las Vegas, and with two festival weekends now on the calendar, both are likely to see elevated demand rather than one concentrated peak.

A multi-night rental split across a group of up to eight people can work out significantly cheaper than the same number of nights in Strip hotel rooms plus shuttle fees per person.

Why Hire an RV for EDC Las Vegas

Camp EDC is the most practical way to attend EDC, particularly for international visitors and groups.

Traffic. The drive between the Las Vegas Strip and the Speedway can take one to three or more hours during peak festival times. Camp EDC puts you on-site for the whole weekend. You walk to the festival gates rather than queuing for shuttles or sitting in traffic at 5:30 am.

Heat management. May daytime temperatures in Las Vegas regularly reach 35 to 40 degrees Celsius (95 to 104°F). EDC runs dusk to dawn, so you sleep during the hottest part of the day, roughly 8 am to 6 pm. An RV with a working generator-powered air conditioner is the only reliable way to sleep comfortably in those conditions; see our guide to keeping a campervan cool in summer for further practical steps.

Cost for groups. One Camp EDC RV Pass covers up to eight people. Split across a group, a Class C or Class A motorhome hire plus one RV pass often costs less than the same number of nights in Strip hotel rooms, once shuttle costs and meals are added.

Self-contained base. An onboard kitchen lets you cook your own meals and store food and drinks. BYO food and factory-sealed beverages are permitted at Camp EDC. Your own bathroom and shower is a meaningful comfort advantage across a multi-night stay, even though Camp EDC provides free communal showers.

Storage. Costumes, valuables and spare gear can be locked in the RV while you are inside the festival.

The Mesa. Camp EDC has its own daytime entertainment area, the Mesa, with pool parties, silent discos, wellness sessions, yoga, artist pop-up performances and food vendors.

Camp EDC RV Requirements

Camp EDC has strict vehicle requirements and inspects every RV at check-in. Confirm your rental meets all of the following before you arrive; the full, current list is always on the official Camp EDC Guidelines page.

Vehicle type. Class A, B or C motorhomes, 19 to 45 feet. Truck campers and fifth wheels are permitted if they have a separate onboard generator and working air conditioning. Tow vehicles must remain attached at all times.

Maximum size. 45 feet total length, including any tow vehicle.

Air conditioning. The RV must have a working AC unit powered by a built-in, non-engine-driven generator. Running the engine to power the AC is not permitted. External gas, diesel or propane generators are not allowed in the campground. Solar-powered battery systems are permitted.

Power cable (if adding the power hookup). Bring a 75-foot power cable. A 30-amp connection requires a TT-30P connector; a 50-amp connection requires a 14-50P connector. No cables are sold on-site.

Arrival rules. The RV cannot be dropped off by a third party. Everyone must arrive in the vehicle with valid festival and camping wristbands already on. Sleeping in parked cars or vans without a valid Camp EDC RV Pass is not allowed.

Fuel. No refuelling is available on-site. Fill your tank and generator fuel before arriving.

The campground is divided into sections by power type: dry camping (no hookup), 30-amp and 50-amp. Groups wanting to park together must arrive at the same time and be in the same power category; there is no saving spots.

Tickets and Passes

Camp EDC passes and EDC festival passes are sold separately, and are now tied to a specific weekend (Dusk, Dawn, or the combined Dusk Till Dawn Experience).

Camp EDC Amenities: The Mesa

The Mesa is the central social and amenities hub for Camp EDC, running daytime activities and services between festival nights:

  • Free showers and porta-potties throughout the campground
  • Free filtered drinking water at refill stations
  • Water misters and shade structures across the Mesa area
  • Pool parties with DJ sets during the day
  • Silent discos, yoga, wellness sessions and meditation
  • Food vendors and a General Store (essentials, water, pump-out vouchers)
  • 24/7 Ground Control, medical staff and security

RV water refills and pump-outs are available for an additional fee at the RV Services Booth in the Mesa. Full current hours are on the Camp EDC entry and hours page.

Campground Rules

  • No external generators; only generators built into the RV are permitted. Solar-powered battery systems are allowed.
  • Small propane grills and stoves are permitted with portable tanks up to 4 lbs per group.
  • No glass containers and no acrylic mirrors larger than 8×8 inches.
  • No canopies, EZ-UPs or large umbrellas; shade structures are provided at the Mesa.
  • No dumping wastewater on the ground; use the on-site pump-out service.
  • No campfires and no butane torches.
  • Bicycles are welcome, one per person, with a bike lock.

Check the official Camp EDC Guidelines for the current, complete prohibited and permitted items list before you pack, since rules can change year to year.

Choosing the Right RV for EDC

The non-negotiable features are a Class A, B or C body, 19 to 45 feet, with an onboard generator and a working air conditioner. Beyond that, prioritise these for the desert heat and dusk-to-dawn schedule:

  • Generator-powered AC. You sleep during the hottest part of the day, roughly 8 am to 6 pm. Without functioning AC, the interior will be dangerously hot in the Nevada desert.
  • Blackout curtains or reflective window covers. The Nevada sun rises early and is intense; blackout covers make daytime sleep possible.
  • Onboard shower and toilet. Camp EDC’s communal facilities serve hundreds of thousands of people across the festival’s history; your own bathroom is a real comfort advantage.
  • Large fresh water tank. Fill completely before arriving. On-site refills cost extra.
  • Adequate fridge capacity. A full-size fridge keeps food and drinks cold across a multi-day stay without relying on ice.
  • 75-foot power cable. If you add the power hookup, confirm your rental includes the correct cable and connector.
  • Fuel capacity. There is no refuelling on-site; your generator needs enough fuel to run air conditioning for the full stay if you are dry camping.

See our general notes on choosing the right motorhome size for a festival crowd for more on matching vehicle size to group size.

What to Pack for Camp EDC

  • Water. Fill your RV tank completely and bring extra gallons; free refill stations are on-site but your own supply matters from the start.
  • Sun protection. SPF 50+ sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses.
  • Warm layer. Desert nights in May drop to 15 to 20°C (59 to 68°F); a light hoodie or jacket helps for the walk between camp and the festival.
  • Footwear already broken in. You’ll be on your feet from around 7 pm to 5:30 am across concrete and dirt.
  • Festival outfits for each night you plan to attend.
  • Earplugs. High-fidelity earplugs for inside the festival, foam earplugs for daytime sleep.
  • Eye mask and blackout covers, essential for daytime sleep; a reflective windshield sunshade also helps keep the RV cooler.
  • LED lantern or head torch for navigating your campsite at night.
  • Portable phone charger. The grounds are large and battery drains fast.
  • ID. 18+ with photo ID for general entry, 21+ for VIP and alcohol.
  • Cooking supplies. A small portable propane stove (tanks up to 4 lbs), plates, utensils and cups; no glass containers.
  • Cleaning supplies and bin bags to leave your campsite clean before departure.
